Jacksonville Jaguars Key Team Additions

  • OG – Chandler Brewer (Rams)
  • DT – Michael Dogbe (Cardinals)
  • OT – Anton Harrison (Sooners) –– and many more 2023 draft picks
  • RB – D’Ernest Johnson (Browns)
  • K  – Brandon McManus (Broncos)
  • DT  –Henry Mondeaux (Giants)
  • TE – Josh Pederson (USFL)
  • WR – Calvin Ridley (Falcons) (reinstated following a trade)
  • OT – Josh Wells (Buccaneers)

In his fifth NFL season, Jawaan Taylor emerged as one of the league’s top right tackles under Coach Phil Rauscher.

The 27th overall pick of the 2023 draft, Anton Harrison, is set to step in and start immediately at right tackle. Harrison displayed impressive pass protection skills at Oklahoma, allowing just one sack on 447 pass pro snaps in his final college year.

Calvin Ridley brings an entirely new level of play-making to the team. Despite not playing since October 2021, Ridley’s impact on Jacksonville’s offense is expected to be evident by the halfway point of the season opener. He led the league with 8 games of 100-plus receiving yards during his 2020 All-Pro season in Atlanta.

Marvin Jones Jr. was a reliable possession receiver known for his memorable goal line touchdown against Baltimore last year. However, the addition of

Brandon McManus and Josh Wells, are likely to contribute significantly to the team:  McManus’s kicking prowess could be key in long field goal attempts and kickoffs, an upgrade from Riley Patterson, while Josh Wells is slated to step in as the swing tackle during Cam Robinson’s four-game suspension.

Aside from Harrison, Auburn running back Tank Bigsby holds promise for making a rookie impact. The Jaguars seek greater physicality up front, particularly in short-yardage situations where the offense struggled in 2022. Notably, Bigsby joins JaMycal Hasty as an additional backfield option to keep Travis Etienne fresh.

The Jaguars faced a notable loss of 475 snaps due to Arden Key’s departure and have not added a game-changing player to a defense that ranked 26th in DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average) in 2022.
